Stracciatella gelato is a classic Italian treat known for its creamy texture and delightful chocolate flakes.
For stracciatella Gelato
• 300 g milk
• 300 g whipping cream
• 120 g white granulated sugar
• 100 g dark chocolate
• In a pot, heat up the milk, the cream and the sugar and take off heat just before boiling point,
then let cool down.
• Put in ice-cream maker and let mix for around 35 minutes, then add finely chopped chocolate
and let mix for 5 more minutes.
• If desired, add a few chocolate chips on top.

The photo made me nervous that mine looked different, but it tasted right and everyone asked for the link.
Made it once with the cheapest version of everything and once with the best I could find. Same method, noticeably different result. Worth spending on the one or two things that carry the flavour.
Less sweet than the supermarket version and much better for it.
Made it the day ahead, which the recipe allows for, and it was all the better for the wait. I had been nervous about the proportions and there was no need.
