Mama Florence, known for celebrating connection through food, now invites you to give back to the city you are visiting. In collaboration with Pane Quotidiano Firenze—a Florence-based non-profit that provides food support to families in need—we’ve created a unique, purpose-driven team building experience: hands-on, meaningful, and deeply engaging.
This is not a race, but a shared mission. You’ll get the sense of what it means to work under the real-life conditions of the non-profit world—tight schedules, limited resources, and high purpose. It's an opportunity to connect with your team in a powerful way, while making a tangible difference for Florence’s most vulnerable residents.
Welcome & Introduction
You’ll be welcomed at Mama Florence and introduced to the mission of Pane Quotidiano. It’s a motivating moment to understand the impact you’re about to create—right here in Florence.
15 Minutes of Awareness
A light but thought-provoking quiz on global and local food insecurity, past and present, with a special focus on Italy and the Florence area. Teams reflect and discuss together, gaining real awareness of the challenges at hand.
Operational Briefing: Be a Volunteer for a Day
We explain the real mission: preparing food boxes to support local families.
Empathy & Planning Exercise
Each team receives a fictional but realistic family profile—with household details and a strict monthly budget. Your task? Design a list of essential grocery items to meet their needs. The teams will receive a feedback (No points or rankings—just a meaningful team conversation on tough choices and real-life limitations).
Hands-On Work: Preparing the Real Boxes
Each team is then given an actual supply list created by the association with a description of the real family need. You'll pack real boxes following careful instructions on weight, volume, and stability. Every box is labeled, checked, sealed, and set aside for delivery to the community.
Debrief & Gratitude
We close by reflecting on the experience: what surprised you? What challenged your thinking? What changed? Finally, we offer heartfelt thanks from Mama Florence and Pane Quotidiano for the concrete contribution made.
