Class description

Come enjoy your fascinating exploration of a bustling Florence food market with a friendly English-speaking guide before your cooking class. The Florence market is a place where the stalls are heaped with produce raised in the green belt around the city and brought in before dawn by the producers. You'll see everything from seasonal produce, fresh and salt-cured meats, cheeses, and much more in a true Italian farm-to-table experience. Your English-speaking guide will take you through the market, explaining local products as you absorb the sights, sounds, and smells of this incredible foodie dream.

Your morning will continue when you arrive to MaMa Florence Cooking School for your pasta making class. The English-speaking professional chef and pasta expert who will dive right in, showing you how to turn simple fresh local Tuscan ingredients into hand made pasta and delicious paired sauces. You will knead, roll and cut pasta such as ravioli, tagliatelle and tagliolini. The sauces are just as important – following seasonal recipes and using only the highest-quality ingredients you will create three delicious sauces, one to accompany each shape of pasta you have made. Of course the aim of this class is that you can take your knowledge home with you to make pasta on your own like a pro.  We want everyone to be able to participate, so let us know if you have a special request such as gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian or eggless pasta and we will be happy to accommodate your needs. This is also a great class for kids as they love to get their hands in the pasta dough.
